6K a year 17 hours ago 17 hours ago 17 hours ago JOB DESCRIPTION Position Surveyor I Overview Olson Engineering is seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly technical Surveyor to join our team.
The surveyor candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience and working knowledge of land surveying and survey software.
Candidates should be competent in establishing coordinates, using Site Calibration methods, and working inside an industrial facility with client specific coordinates is a plus.
Surveying equipment consists of Trimble R10s, Trimble Robot, Leica RTC 360 Scanner, and TSC5 Data Collector.
Responsibilities and Duties Surveyors are expected to:
Perform in a team environment under supervision and coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Senior Surveyors and other subject matter experts to develop detailed surveys.
Frequently coordinate field visits to plant or refinery-type facilities and communicate with plant operations to ensure safe project activities.
Fulfill project requirements and incorporate up-to-date equipment and technology to complete within the project's scope of work, schedule, and budget.
Provide field survey, laser scans, and establishing project specific control points to assist in preparing the basis of three-dimensional model, design, and construction.
Preparing a terrestrial 3D laser scan for registration and publishing to various software programs and formats to present to the project team.
Ability to use and troubleshoot a total station, GPS, and surveyor's level to perform a traditional survey.
Proficient with software such as, but not limited to, Leica Cyclone Register, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Education/Knowledge Education Knowledge of survey standards codes and basic survey concepts Proficient in GPS, Total Station/Robot, and Surveyor's Level.
Good written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Knowledge of 3D scanning methods/procedures is a plus.
